International Purchasing and Distribution. Just over the eastern horizon,
a new day has begun for
Associated Grocers of Florida.
When all phases of construction are totally completed, the
planned 1.5 million sq.ft. facility in Freeport will serve as an
import nexus for products that the company distributes to its
international customers, but is also intended as a showroom for
U.S. companies to shop for products from all over the world.

International Distributors of Grand Bahama Limited’s grand opening, marks the turn of the
modern era of international shipping where post pananmax shipping has given rise to super-hemispheric
trans-shipment hubs and greater access to manufactured and agricultural goods from all over the world.
What sets IDGBL apart in the marketplace is its commitment to independent
retailers in all industry sectors, as well as the giant corporations throughout the world.
International Distributors of Grand Bahama Limited has constructed an
86,542 sq.ft. warehouse and office facility on our
initial 20 acre site as Phase One. Phase Two & Phase Three of the project will consist of two, 200,000 sq.ft. additional warehouses
which will build out at
486,542 sq.ft. The second 20 acre parcel combined with the remaining land of the first 20
acres will consist of an additional
800,000 sq.ft. facility. When all phases are completed, IDGBL will have approximately
1.5
million sq.ft. of warehouse and office space.
Many companies are already conducting some joint buying to reduce costs, but our facility will greatly expand the
opportunities for obtaining large orders from overseas, in part because of the unique qualities of the container
port in Freeport. As the deepest port in eastern North America, it is one of the only two ports capable of harboring
a new class of container transport ships called “Post-Panamax,” which are too large to fit through the Panama Canal.
What we do in Pompano Beach, Florida is replenishment.
What we will do in Freeport is full-container load sourcing from
throughout the world.
